Cindy's artistic style utilizes ink and watercolor illustrations along with photographs to create a handmade layered collage scene for each page. For the cover, her original illustrations were scanned and masked to create a collage with excess paper borders and shadows to showcase her particular style. This children's book is about learning to explore the forest, and Cindy wanted a cover that would invite children to enter the book.
The interior pages of the book were created in a similar manner as the cover but kept her original collage layouts. Each page was scanned and color-corrected for standardization, and the text was typeset.
