Cindy's artistic style uses ink and watercolor illustrations, along with photographs, to create a handmade, layered collage scene for each page. For the cover, her original illustrations were scanned and masked to create a collage with excess paper borders and shadows, showcasing her style. This children's book is about exploring the forest, and Cindy wanted a cover that would invite children to enter the book as if it were a forest.
The interior pages of the book were created in a similar manner to the cover, but her original collage layouts were retained. Each page was scanned and color-corrected for standardization, and the text was typeset.
